01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Tropea on the charming Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Caffé del Corso is a delightful haven for lovers of exquisite coffee, artisan pastries, and irresistible gelato treats. This family-owned bar, ice cream shop, and pastry boutique offers a truly authentic Italian experience where warmth and quality come together in perfect harmony.

What truly sets Caffé del Corso apart is their legendary tartufo – a rich, indulgent gelato dessert that has quickly become an obsession for locals and visitors alike. From the classic tartufo nero to creative variations including a unique vegan version, each tartufo is a masterpiece of balanced sweetness and luxurious flavor that delights the palate without overwhelming it. The pistachio tartufo, in particular, comes highly recommended by many and promises an explosion of creamy, nutty bliss that lingers long after the last bite.

The passion and care behind each offering are palpable the moment you walk in. As one customer perfectly put it, “You feel immediately at home.” The staff’s genuine hospitality makes every visit feel like catching up with dear friends. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate, with locals often starting their mornings here savoring a crisp espresso paired with their buttery cornetto or brioche. Whether you are stopping by for a quick coffee shot or lingering over a selection of sweet treats, every visit to Caffé del Corso is a comforting retreat from the ordinary.

Beyond the tartufo, the cafe’s coffee is outstanding, delivering that perfect bright and aromatic kick that Italians prize so highly. The assortment of pastries and gelato varieties invites exploration, with something for every craving and dietary preference. It’s clear that quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship are at the core of their offerings.

For travelers and food aficionados visiting Tropea, Caffé del Corso is not just a pitstop – it’s an experience of genuine Italian hospitality and culinary artistry. The memories of these sweet moments, as many guests mention, linger well beyond the visit, often inspiring dreams of returning soon for another taste of this extraordinary tartufo and that unforgettable welcoming embrace.

An absolute gem! The staff are incredibly friendly and immediately make you feel at home! During our stay in Tropea we went to the cafe multiple times and we were never disappointed! It has fantastic coffee, cornettos, brioche and sweet treats. It’s lovely to see all the locals grabbing an espresso and cornetto early in the morning. I would highly recommend this cafe!
